Ms. Gayatri M. Oleti is a social development specialist in public health domain and human resource management. She started her career with corporate and moved to the social development sector with a focus on public health to pursue her passion, i.e. enabling the poor to improve quality of life. In her career spanning over 23 years, she worked in the human resource management function in various units of the steel behemoth, Steel Authority of India Limited. She has also been working with multinational and bilateral agency supported development projects i.e. USAID / DFID / Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Her assignments include CARE India / AIDS Prevention and Control-VHS, Centre for Development Finance –IFMR and Children Investment Fund Foundation wherein she has managed large scale maternal & child health and nutrition projects in many Indian states.
Her core strengths are design of development program and strategic management of large scale funds to have sustainable impact, guiding industries in CSR, building partnerships, collaborations through PPPs in Maternal health and Child Nutrition, HIV/AIDS, Disaster Management, and Innovations. She has extensively and successfully worked with various State Governments in policy advocacy, nudging policy guidelines, health systems, and innovations. She has been successful in testing proof of concept on the ground to large scale program replication and implementation. Gayatri was instrumental in designing the State Health Data Resource Centre for the Tamil Nadu Health department, a pioneer project in the public health sector. Technology adoption, using large development data for evidence-based advocacy, promoting international standards and protocols in program implementation and aligning business interest with CSR have been her forte.
Gayatri is a graduate in Economics and has an MBA degree from the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, India with HRM specialization. She was awarded a full merit Scholarship to pursue a full-time Master’s Degree in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics, UK. She has specialized in Social Policy and Planning in Developing countries. She also holds a Certificate Course on Participatory Practices for Sustainable Development conducted at Colorado State University. Gayatri has presented many papers in national and international forums.
