HITLAB is happy to introduce our newest team members, Laura Pugliese and Elise Kang. Laura and Elise bring exceptional experience, skills and focus to our healthcare innovation initiatives.
Laura Pugliese joins HITLAB as a Research Associate. Laura recently received a Master in Public Health from Boston University, where she concentrated in International Health and was honored with the Rex Fendall Award for Excellence in Public Health Writing for her capstone research on patient-provider relationships in South Africa’s women’s health services. Laura has additionally worked with Oxfam, Boston University and International Medical Corps on global health research and programming focused on public health in developing regions. In addition to her experience in public health research, Laura worked on the institutional development team for the South African Education and Environment Project, a non-profit that expands access to quality education and health for children and youth in South Africa’s poorest communities. Laura received her Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University.
Elise Kang is the Program Assistant at HITLAB, focusing on research and project coordination. Prior to joining the lab, she worked as a first grade teacher in Brooklyn. She graduated from Harvard College with a degree in Psychology, where she spent much time doing cognitive neuroscience research studying the development of implicit memory in children.
