Princess Swan, Strategy Coordinator

Before joining the strategy team at HITLAB, Princess worked at the Columbia University Medical School as a neuroendocrinology researcher conducting immunoassays on patient samples for diabetes and thyroid disorder research. She received her BS in plant science and human health from Cornell University. During her undergrad years, she completed research apprenticeships with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), presenting her findings at the National Science and MHIRT research symposiums.

Working in the Aregullin Phytochemistry Lab and the Kao-Kniffin Microbiology lab developed her interests in pharmaceuticals and plant biological compounds. Being a member of Cornell University Sustainable Design aided in fostering her interest in biotechnology, design and sustainability. Being on the executive team of TEDxCornell helped her to appreciate novel ideas and be open to innovation in all fields.

When she’s not working, Princess enjoys volunteering at STEM schools, making green smoothies, yoga, travel and reading books. She is also a member of the United Nations Association and is an ambassador for the Center for Advancing Innovation (CAI).
