Sonia Gulati, PhD
Sonia has a broad background in the life sciences and biotechnology sector. Sonia is currently the Assistant Director at the New York State Innovation Venture Capital Fund, a $100 million seed and early-stage venture fund that invests in the New York life sciences community.
Sonia has strong ties to the New York biotech ecosystem having served as a Harlem Biospace Venture Associate and Interim Program Director at KiiLN. Prior to joining the venture capital fund, she worked at a boutique healthcare consultancy where she helped biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies meet their commercial development goals by informing their product launch and life cycle management strategies.
Her consulting engagements encompassed a wide variety of therapeutic areas including neurology, endocrinology and rare diseases. Sonia completed her doctoral and post-doctoral research at Columbia University where she studied cardiovascular and infectious disease. Sonia has a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University and a PhD from the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, Columbia University.
