About the HITLAB World Cup
The HITLAB World Cup, part of the HITLAB Innovators Summit, strives to make healthcare smarter and more intuitive by improving delivery, access, and outcomes through an international competition. This event identifies and supports innovators who help patients around the world manage, understand, and utilize quality healthcare. Past winners have gone on to raise over $68 million in follow-on funding and launch commercially viable products that are transforming lives. Applicants are judged on the following criteria: impact, innovation, sustainability, and feasibility. Our 2017 HITLAB World Cup, sponsored by Novo Nordisk, featured $75K in total prizes for voice-activated technology in diabetes care startups.
Upcoming 2019 HITLAB World Cup: Women’s Health Tech
Calling all digital health entrepreneurs: The HITLAB World Cup Challenge will be back in 2019 with a focus on emerging technology applications and systems that improve medical care and the provision of healthcare among women worldwide. With more than $1 billion in funding between 2015 and 2018, products and services supporting women’s health is set to be the next big disruptor in the global healthcare market (Forbes 2018).
The goal of the Challenge is to invite innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups, as either individuals or teams, to propose novel concepts to fulfill or mitigate the unmet needs of women all over the world. Concepts can focus on enhancing patient outcomes, lowering healthcare costs without compromising quality, making the management of patients more efficient, and improving their health and quality of life.
