Laura Pugliese, Deputy Director of Innovation Research
As Deputy Director of Innovation Research, Laura leads HITLAB's mHealth and digital health research efforts. This includes conceptualizing, implementing and evaluating projects to improve healthcare worldwide. She brings a global perspective and a passion for strategizing innovative, stylish and resourceful solutions to pressing healthcare problems.
Laura has studied, worked and traveled around the world. Before joining HITLAB, Laura provided qualitative research and strategic consulting for Oxfam and International Medical Corps, and led grants, new media and institutional development efforts for a non-profit working to expand education access in Cape Town, South Africa. She has also worked with Boston University School of Public Health to perform exploratory investigation of remote technology-driven solutions for disaster relief, and led award-winning independent qualitative research on patient-provider relationships in South Africa’s women’s health services.
Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a Master's degree in Public Health from Boston University.
