BlueprintNav Closes Oversubscribed Pre-Seed Round, Backed by State Innovation Award and Growing Clinical Validation
NEW YORK, NY — September 1, 2026 — BlueprintNav, an oncology patient navigation technology company, has closed its pre-seed round at $777,500 — exceeding its original $750,000 target — and secured a $50,000 Proof of Commercialization Award from the Iowa Economic Development Authority, bringing total early-stage funding to $827,500. The raise follows the first phase of a pilot with a nationally recognized comprehensive cancer center, a second pilot beginning in October with a national cancer advocacy organization, and an independent usability evaluation conducted by HITLAB.
WHY NOW
Navigation has moved from a nice-to-have to a reimbursable, measurable function in cancer care. CMS’s Principal Illness Navigation codes made navigation billable for the first time; AONN+ is pushing the field toward standardized metrics; and health systems are under mounting pressure to prove navigation’s value in dollars, not anecdotes. Navigators, meanwhile, are still largely working off spreadsheets. BlueprintNav is betting that the software layer for this workforce is the next real infrastructure gap in oncology — and this round is early evidence that investors and institutions agree.
WHAT IT MEANS
For health systems and advocacy organizations, it signals a maturing option for navigation infrastructure — one with independent usability validation and a live reimbursement pathway (G0023/G0024 billing support) built in, not bolted on. For the navigation field more broadly, it’s a marker that the profession is being treated as investable, measurable, and central to cancer care economics — not a support function.
“Technology only creates value if clinicians actually want to use it,” said Dr. Stan Kachnowski, Chair of HITLAB. “Our evaluation highlighted both the platform’s strengths and opportunities for refinement, giving BlueprintNav a roadmap to make an already strong product even better.”
“Navigators change lives,” said Alex McMurray, COO of BlueprintNav. “CMS has recognized that with dedicated reimbursement, and we built BlueprintNav to make capturing that reimbursement and demonstrating navigation’s measurable impact as simple as possible for the programs doing this work every day.”
“What sets BlueprintNav apart is that it’s built on the same evidence base we’ve spent years establishing as a field,” said Tricia Strusowski, RN, MS, Clinical Advisor to BlueprintNav, who co-chairs the AONN+ Navigation Metrics Subcommittee and the organization’s Navigation Acuity Project. “This funding means that rigor can now scale to programs that have never had the infrastructure to measure their own impact.”

BluePrintNav
Founded in 2025, BlueprintNav develops software specifically for oncology navigation programs — managing patient caseloads, evidence-based screenings, resource connections, and Medicare reimbursement capture for navigation services. AONN+-aligned reporting and ROI metrics give navigation leaders the data they need to demonstrate program value and justify growth. Clinical advisor Tricia Strusowski, RN, MS, co-chairs the AONN+ Navigation Metrics Subcommittee and the organization’s Navigation Acuity Project, and has developed 15 multidisciplinary cancer programs across the United States. She also leads BlueprintNav’s navigation consulting practice.
