At the intersection of healthcare and technology, leaders like Ratnadeep Bhattacharjee are redefining what innovation looks like. As Co-founder and Chief of Solutions at TechVariable, Ratnadeep has dedicated his career to designing scalable digital health tools that improve care delivery and empower both patients and providers. We sat down with him to talk about his journey, his vision for the healthcare ecosystem, and why he chose to join the HITLAB Breakthrough Alliance Board.
Q: Tell us about your journey into healthcare and your role at TechVariable
Ratnadeep Bhattacharjee: “My background is in engineering and product development, but what really inspired me was the potential for technology to solve systemic healthcare challenges. At TechVariable, I lead solution design and innovation strategy. That means working closely with health organizations to understand their pain points, and then translating those needs into software platforms that drive efficiency, accessibility, and better outcomes. We focus on creating solutions that are not only cutting-edge but scalable—whether it’s supporting a health startup entering the market or a large health system trying to improve interoperability.”
Q: What’s your perspective on digital health’s role in the healthcare ecosystem today?
Ratnadeep Bhattacharjee: “I see digital health as a great equalizer. Technology gives us the ability to deliver care beyond hospital walls, close gaps in access, and give providers better insights. But innovation has to be thoughtful. A great product isn’t just about features; it’s about usability, empathy, and the ability to integrate seamlessly into clinicians’ workflows. Healthcare technology should empower—not overwhelm—its users. That’s what drives my work at TechVariable.”
Q: How do you see TechVariable impacting the future of healthcare?
Ratnadeep Bhattacharjee: “At TechVariable, our mission is to build technology that democratizes healthcare. We’re deeply invested in data-driven systems, interoperability, and global collaboration. For example, we’ve helped organizations design platforms for chronic disease management, provider workflow automation, and real-time analytics. Our vision is to be a partner for innovation—not just a software vendor. By collaborating with health leaders and innovators, we aim to create tech that works in both high-resource and resource-limited environments, ensuring equity is at the heart of every solution.”
Q: What motivated you to join HITLAB’s Breakthrough Alliance Board?
Ratnadeep Bhattacharjee: “I’ve always admired HITLAB’s evidence-based approach to innovation. The Breakthrough Alliance is a rare platform where startups, corporations, and investors come together to validate and refine solutions based on real-world data. I joined the Board because I want to help scale innovations that truly make a difference—not just in one region or system, but globally. HITLAB’s mission to test and validate solutions aligns perfectly with my belief that technology must be practical, scalable, and inclusive to drive impact. I’m excited to contribute to this mission and collaborate with other forward-thinking leaders.”
Q: What excites you most about being part of this community?
Ratnadeep Bhattacharjee: “The chance to share expertise and learn from other innovators. There’s incredible potential when you bring together entrepreneurs, health leaders, and investors who are committed to solving healthcare’s toughest problems. Being part of the BTA Board allows me to advocate for thoughtful innovation and help promising startups scale responsibly.”
Q: Looking ahead, what’s your 5–10-year vision for your work and the healthcare industry?
Ratnadeep Bhattacharjee: “Over the next decade, I see healthcare becoming much more interconnected and patient-centric. My personal goal is to continue building platforms that break down silos and enable data-driven decision-making across borders. I want TechVariable to be at the forefront of creating solutions that work equally well in advanced markets and in underserved regions, so that innovation is not limited by geography. Ultimately, I hope to play a role in shaping a healthcare ecosystem where equity and access are the standard, not the exception.”
We’re thrilled to welcome Ratnadeep Bhattacharjee to the HITLAB Breakthrough Alliance Board. His technical expertise, passion for equity, and dedication to user-centered design will help drive HITLAB’s mission to accelerate healthcare transformation worldwide.
