AI Powered Data Abstraction & Intelligence for Hospital Quality Programs by Evida Health

The growing complexity of clinical registries, quality reporting, and certification programs has accelerated the need for intelligent, AI-enabled platforms that simplify registry operations while improving reporting accuracy.

This white paper presents HITLAB’s independent heuristic evaluation of the Evida Health platform, an AI-powered clinical registry intelligence solution designed to streamline registry abstraction, quality reporting, and quality analytics. The platform leverages artificial intelligence, workflow automation, and interoperability to improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and support regulatory compliance across clinical registry programs. HITLAB’s evaluation indicates that Evida provides a strong foundation for modern registry operations. By integrating AI-assisted chart abstraction, automated patient identification, centralized document management, registry measure configuration, FHIR connectivity, operational dashboards, and certification tracking within a unified platform, Evida Health effectively addresses many of the operational challenges encountered by quality teams.

Using Jakob Nielsen’s Ten Usability Heuristics, HITLAB researchers evaluated the platform from the perspectives of a Clinical Registry Operations Specialist and a Clinical Abstractor. The assessment examined navigation, information architecture, workflow efficiency, AI-assisted functionality, error prevention, system feedback, interoperability, and overall usability.

The evaluation identified numerous strengths while highlighting opportunities to further improve navigation consistency, user guidance, system feedback, and workflow flexibility.
