HITLAB and Evida Health Launch Project CALLISTO to Answer the Question Every Hospital Asks About AI: Where’s the Proof?
NEW YORK, NY — July 23, 2026 — American hospitals spend billions of dollars and millions of staff hours every year on regulatory reporting — work that pulls clinicians away from patients and buries quality teams in manual data extraction. AI can eliminate much of that burden. But hospital leaders won’t adopt what hasn’t been proven.
Today, HITLAB, the New York City-based health innovation and technology organization, and Evida Health, developer of an AI-powered platform that automates clinical data extraction and regulatory reporting, announced a partnership to close that proof gap. Through Project CALLISTO, HITLAB will put Evida Health’s platform through independent, rigorous evaluation — and publish what it finds.
Evidence That Converts Pilots into Customers
Project CALLISTO combines three streams of validation: an independent heuristic evaluation of the platform conducted by HITLAB’s research team; a systematic analysis of Evida Health’s existing study data and customer outcomes; and publication of the findings in both a white paper for health system decision-makers and a peer-reviewed manuscript for the scientific record.
The goal is commercial as much as scientific: to give hospital executives, compliance officers, and quality leaders the third-party evidence they need to move from pilot programs to enterprise deployment — accelerating Evida Health’s entry into the U.S. hospital market.
