Despite widespread electronic health record (EHR) adoption and emerging standards like FHIR, true healthcare interoperability remains elusive. Data continues to exist in fragmented silos across providers, payers, public health agencies, and research networks, leading to incomplete patient records, delayed care coordination, constrained AI readiness, and operational inefficiencies. Regulatory pressures, such as new CMS interoperability mandates in 2026, further highlight the urgent need for scalable, governed, and real-time data exchange. HiXConnect was developed to address these persistent barriers by transforming complex, custom integrations into structured, low-code workflows that enable secure, transparent, and intelligent health data sharing across diverse ecosystems.
HITLAB conducted a heuristic evaluation of HiXConnect using Jakob Nielsen’s usability principles to assess the platform’s effectiveness in supporting enterprise interoperability, integration monitoring, and governed data exchange.
