Heart failure and coronary disease often remain undetected until patients present acutely. As recently as 2018, only 1.1% of heart failure patients received all recommended guideline-directed drug classes at maximum dose. Earlier identification of underlying left ventricular dysfunction may help address this gap, and Medical AI’s implementation studies are examining whether earlier detection can improve treatment and outcomes.
Standard 12-lead ECGs are performed on hundreds of millions of patients annually, yet subtle signals of LV dysfunction, early ischemia, or arrhythmia risk may not be visible through conventional interpretation. NT-proBNP is an established biomarker for heart failure assessment, but it requires a blood draw and laboratory testing. Heart failure also contributes to up to a 3% Medicare payment penalty under the CMS Hospital Readmissions Reduction Program, with roughly one-quarter of readmissions considered preventable.
Medical AI Co.’s AiTiA platform aims to address this gap by extracting diagnostic and prognostic signals from ECGs already collected in routine care-without adding a new procedure, equipment, or clinical staff. The portfolio includes AiTiA LVSD for hospital-based 12-lead ECGs, AiTiA LVSD-1L for smartwatch-based single-lead ECGs (MFDS-approved), and HeartSafe, a related wearable ECG-transmission platform.
Medical AI’s AiTiA platform is an AI-enabled ECG diagnostic support platform that analyzes standard 12-lead, portable, and single-lead ECGs to identify signals associated with left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVSD), acute myocardial infarction (MI) risk, arrhythmia, and other structural and systemic conditions-within seconds at the point of care. The platform uses ECGs already being collected, requiring no additional procedure, , or clinical staff. Through a zero-click EMR/PACS trigger, AiTiA can automatically analyze ECGs, with on-premises deployment also available. The platform includes AiTiA LVSD, commercially deployed for hospital-based 12-lead ECGs; AiTiA LVSD-1L, an MFDS-approved smartwatch pathway; and an expanding module suite covering MI, AS, and LVDD.
