HITLAB PRESS RELEASE
Fifth-Annual HITLAB Innovators Summit Announced, Assembling Leaders Across Digital Health Ecosystem
By HITLAB Staff
Inspiring the next five years of healthcare changemakers is the goal of the 2018 HITLAB Innovators Summit: New York. The two-day event is sponsored by Nestlé Skin Health, Columbia Business School, and Playing Forward and begins Tuesday, November 28. It brings together leaders in life sciences, technology, public health, medicine, investment, and design to discuss pressing global health issues and digital solutions.
This Summit, now in its fifth year, is centered around disruptors—those driving change across the digital health ecosystem and redefining what is possible in healthcare delivery. Topics range from establishing a culture of innovation in life science companies to examining the current state of startup accelerators.
“Attendees can expect to hear from those pushing the envelope of what is possible across the entire digital health ecosystem,” said Stan Kachnowski, HITLAB Chair. “From venture capital to academic medical centers, this Summit goes deeper into the most diffusive technologies and diverse groups driving change.”
The event will feature an engagement session led by Steven Krein, StartUp Health CEO, along with panels and speaker presentations from leaders representing Google Launchpad, Dreamit Ventures, NewYork-Presbyterian, HealthTree, Merck Global Health Fund, and more. Playing Forward will occupy an exhibitor area showing the latest mixed-reality technology.
“Playing Forward is thrilled to sponsor the HITLAB Innovators Summit: New York,” said Victor Talbot, Playing Forward Co-Founder. “We are deeply invested in the potential of digital health to transform the continuum of care, and our flagship GaitWay XR initiative showcases the power of cross-domain collaboration between neuroscientists, researchers, game designers, animators, and technologists to create an immersive experience for both in-clinic diagnosis and at-home therapeutics.”
Details for the 2019 HITLAB World Cup—an annual global contest open to digital health innovators and entrepreneurs—will be announced. Its theme: Women’s Health Tech.
