The HITLAB World Cup Challenge was back for 2019 with a focus on emerging technology applications and systems that improve medical care and the provision of healthcare among women worldwide. With more than $1 billion in funding between 2015 and 2018, products and services supporting women are set to be the next big disruptors in the global healthcare market. The five finalist teams presented live on May 21 at Pitch Day for the chance to win a total prize pool valued at up to $46K. Pitching to a full house at SAP Hudson Yards, Norka Health ultimately won first prize, the #Disrupt50B award presented by Bayer G4A.

Applications closed on April 16.

The goal of the Challenge was to invite innovators, entrepreneurs, and startups, as either individuals or teams, to propose novel concepts to fulfill or mitigate the unmet needs of women all over the world.

A cash prize of $10K plus other prizes valued at up to $36K was awarded to the winners at Pitch Day on May 21 in NYC. In addition, finalists learned from best-in-class mentors on startup essentials like branding, fundraising, product development, and pilot testing.
