New York, NY – December 3, 2025 – HITLAB is pleased to announce the appointment of Ainsley MacLean, MD, FACR to the HITLAB Breakthrough Alliance (BTA) Board, marking a notable expansion of the Alliance’s leadership with the addition of one of the sector’s most forward-thinking private-equity strategists.

Dr. MacLean is the founding General Partner of the private equity firm Ainsley & Born Capital, which invests in growth-stage healthcare technology companies and healthcare practices. She is also the founding partner for Ainsley Advisory Group, which advises dozens of startups scaling in healthcare, and a former Chief AI Officer for Kaiser Permanente.

Her cross-disciplinary background—physician, investor, operator—gives her a rare vantage point on what it truly takes for emerging technologies to succeed: evidence, scalability, clinical relevance, and market discipline.

As a BTA Board Member, Dr. MacLean will play a critical role in shaping HITLAB’s research agenda and ecosystem engagement, including:
