HITLAB is excited to announce the launch of a heuristic evaluation study of Send Mammogram, a pioneering digital health platform transforming how women access and share prior breast health images.
Breast cancer screening is most effective when radiologists can compare new mammograms with prior studies. Yet, outdated workflows—fax requests, mailed CDs, paper forms—often delay care, increase costs, and contribute to unnecessary imaging or biopsies. Send Mammogram addresses this challenge head-on by empowering women to request, store, and share prior mammograms and breast health images anytime, anywhere.
MammoVault®, powered by Send Mammogram, is a mobile app designed to put women in control of their breast health. It serves as a secure digital home for personal breast health records. The app also features Mammsi™, an emerging AI-powered assistant that delivers timely reminders, personalized education, and trusted guidance throughout the imaging journey. Together, these tools reduce delays, unnecessary exposure, and patient anxiety while simplifying workflows for providers.

Through this heuristic evaluation, HITLAB experts will apply a structured usability framework to assess the platform’s design, user experience, and alignment with best practices in digital health. Insights from the study will identify opportunities to strengthen Send Mammogram’s impact as it continues to modernize breast health care.
“Improving access to mammography and reducing delays caused by missing prior images is critical to early detection and better outcomes,” said Dr. Stan Kachnowski, Chair of HITLAB. “Send Mammogram represents exactly the type of innovation that can make a measurable difference in women’s health. Our evaluation will help ensure the platform delivers the best possible user experience for patients and providers alike.”
Findings from the study will be published in a forthcoming HITLAB white paper and shared across our thought leadership channels. Together with Send Mammogram, we are committed to advancing digital solutions that empower women, modernize care, and save lives.
Stay tuned for updates on this important collaboration.
