New York, NY – October 6, 2025 – HITLAB, a leader in health innovation research, has partnered with Woddle, an emerging pioneer in infant monitoring solutions, to improve pediatric decision-making and empower families using remote monitoring to track infant health and support timely, informed care.
Monitoring infant growth and feeding patterns is a cornerstone of neonatal and pediatric care, particularly for infants recently discharged from the hospital or NICU. During the early post-discharge period, infants are at heightened risk for growth faltering, feeding difficulties, and unplanned readmissions. Traditional follow-up care relies heavily on in-office weight checks and caregiver self-reporting, which may delay recognition of early warning signs. These gaps are more pronounced among families with limited healthcare access, especially in rural and underserved populations.
The Woddle Smart Changing Pad integrates a precision weight scale, diaper event tracking, feeding monitoring, and sleep logging into a single connected platform. The paired mobile app enables caregivers to record and visualize infant health metrics, while a provider dashboard allows clinicians to remotely monitor trends and intervene when necessary. This integrated approach has the potential to:
- Improve detection of early growth or feeding concerns (e.g., excessive weight loss, suboptimal feeding).
- Enhance caregiver engagement, confidence, and stress management through objective data and educational support.
- Reduce unnecessary clinic visits by providing reliable, at-home weight monitoring.
- Support continuity of care across the critical transition from NICU or newborn nursery to the home environment.
This study aims to evaluate the feasibility, usability, and clinical utility of the Woddle Smart Changing Pad and companion mobile application for infant monitoring following hospital or NICU discharge.
Mr. Shaker Rawan, CEO of Woddle, said: “At Woddle, our mission is to ensure that no child’s developmental needs go unnoticed. Partnering with HITLAB allows us to validate our platform with the highest level of rigor, so that families and clinicians can trust the insights we deliver. Together, we are paving the way for earlier detection, equitable access, and better outcomes for children everywhere.”
With decades of expertise in public health research and digital health validation, HITLAB will oversee the study’s design, execution, and analysis. The study will involve collaboration with pediatric experts, early childhood educators, and partner clinical sites to ensure rigor and credibility.
A Path Forward
HITLAB will assess Woddle Baby’s solutions to generate strong clinical evidence of its effectiveness and real-world utility. The study’s findings will contribute to the advancement of early childhood development research, while supporting families, clinicians, and policymakers in promoting healthier growth outcomes.
The results will also reinforce Woddle’s mission: to make developmental monitoring accessible, equitable, and engaging for all families worldwide. Together, HITLAB and Woddle are working toward a future where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
